Pond Neck Road Cleanup
West View Shores is named as the caretakers of Pond Neck Road from Stemmers Run Road to our community. Jim Miliner is heading up the effort to have a road cleanup on Saturday, April 13 beginning at 9 AM. Rain date will be Sunday, April 14 at 9. If enough people participate, the task shouldn’t take a long time. We want to tackle the cleanup before the vegetation begins to grow and it becomes difficult to see and reach items…

Community Yard Sale
West View Shores is having a Community Yard Sale on Saturday June 26 from 9 AM until 3 PM. It will be a drive through sale with set ups at individual homes. So get your gently used and things you don’t need any longer ready! More details will be provided in an upcoming newsletter.

Beach Cleanup – no volunteers needed
We have contracted out the beach cleanup work since 2019. Volunteers are not be needed on that day. Heavy equipment will be in use and we do not want to risk injury to volunteers. REMINDER: ORANGE CANS ARE FOR BEACH CLEAN UP ONLY. Please do not place your personal trash or yard waste in them.

Burning of the Winter Socks and Soup Celebration
This pungent event will take place to celebrate the beginning of Spring. This event had its beginnings in Eastport, MD in the mid-1970’s when Bob Turner, a boatyard worker, decided to burn his socks and have a beer in tribute to the coming of warmer weather. Legend has it that back when baths were scarce, the boatyard workers wore the same socks all winter and burned them on the solstice. The sock burning will take place…
